You may notice that in Remote Terminal Services, Internet Explorer is not advertised,
this is being done by design. While Internet Explorer is still available, browsing the Internet in Remote Terminal Services is not recommended.
Below is a list of the explanations, as well as some suggestions for browsing the Internet.
Many web sites, in order to provide users with enhanced features and a better graphical experience use various programming methods. Many of these same methods are in use by others who wish to automatically run malicious programs, or even try to steal your identity.
For security purposes, most ActiveX will not run under Terminal Services. ActiveX controls are a popular method of deploying software packages that may be harmful. To ensure continued reliability, most ActiveX controls are being blocked by the system.
Another popular form of malicious attacks is through Java scripts. While some Java scripts will run, most will not.
While you will still be able to browse the Internet and follow the Internet links that you receive in e-mail, you may experience issues in viewing the web page you visit. If this happens, copy the link that was sent to you and minimize your remote session and from your local computer, open a new Internet browser then paste your link into the address line.
Please be advised that the favorites that you are used to having when in the office are not available in Terminal Server. There is not a reliable way to keep these in sync to ensure they are available.
If you need to browse the Internet, we suggest that you do this from your computer and not the Remote system. When you browse from your local computer, web pages should load quicker and run in a better graphical mode.
